Notable DIY and Indie artists from South Africa

We are going to post some artists from South Africa, who are in the country and some who are abroad.
From Nujazz, lofi, Afro Disco, Gqom, Rap/Hip -Hop and other styles and genres. Starting with these five.

We start of with Seba Kaapstaad, a band from Cape Town with nice jazzy and soulful sounds.

Seba has an album titled Thina. you can check out the release on bandcamp

Yugen Blakrok is a an emcee from SA who has perfomed abroad, has worked with the likes of Robo The Technician amongst other respected South african Underground Rap artists.

Yugen has three official releases on her bandcamp including:
Anima Miysterium, Carbon Form and Return Of The Astro-Goth

Fantasma is an experimantal band, their sunds have everything from Rock, Maskandi, Rap, Drum n Bass. One of the band members is Spoek Mathambo, and fusing sounds has been something he has be doing for years.

Fantasma has officially released album titled Free Love, and the Eye Of The Sun EP.

Velvel Suite Lounge are a band from Joburg. their sound is House, Broken Beat, Neo-soul and Lounge.

VSL have an album under their belt Human Nature. they also have multiple singles and remixes from known dance music producers.

Skinny Pelembe is a Johannesburg born artist based in the UK, forms part of the brownswood collective of artists.

Dreaming Is Dead Now is the newest release fromhim, including singles and an EP

Since the new Golden Era of recording is upon us, it's only right to share a few female recording artists and projects that are a must listen.
The albums and artists are not put in any specific order of ratings, also not based on year of release.
these are a must have for anyone who enjoys music with soul, jazz and funk element be it any style or genre.
Most of the projects are genre defying pieces, and YES the form a part of the "self care" laidback easy listening sound with deep vocals, something of an alternative parallel feel of Lo-Fi sounds bumping while you are on your daily routines.
